We are seeking a Director of Donor Relations, which is a key role in our Donor Impact department. This individual will develop strategies to deepen community engagement and increase giving to the organization by leading the development, growth, and fundraising goals of affinity group programs and special events. This position is responsible for the strategy of donor acknowledgement, recognition, and impact reporting. Key performance indicators are affinity member recruitment and retention, evet quality and attendance, and achievement towards fundraising goals. This role may supervise one to three staff members.


What You’ll Do:



  • Responsible for revenue goals associated with affinity group participation and special event fundraising achievement

  • Responsible for stewardship and recognition growth of individual donors

  • Build and implement special event and affinity group strategic plans that promote revenue, community outcomes, and engagement

  • Collaborate with finance and analytics leads to assemble performance reports of affinity groups and events

  • Develop ideas for fresh individual giving process inherent with individual fundraising principles

  • Assist in organizational strategy for donor (individual and corporate) acknowledgement, recognition, and impact reporting

  • Responsible for overall quality and management of major events, projects, or programs

  • Oversee program budgets and ensure financial accountability

  • Perform ad hoc projects


What You’ll Need:



  • Have at least five years of experience with volunteer management and leadership

  • Able to identify and cultivate individuals within affinity group programs and comfortably solicit members for undesignated gifts

  • Proven success with management of large scale events

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and able to work with all types of personalities

  • Must be innovative, flexible, and able to work independently

  • Able to strategically plan, execute, and drive program success, including understanding and embracing data-driven reasoning and program evaluation

  • Have experience in managing staff and volunteers

  • Have experience in developing and monitoring budgets with minimal oversight

  • Are used to working in a remote environment (not all positions work remotely, but many of our team mates work out of the office 1-4 days per week)
